Accidental Army & The City That Helped Create a Country

Two Chicagoans, John Iltis and Bruce Bendinger, formed The Czech Legion Project – and produced a documentary that tells the little-known story of how there came to be a Czechoslovakia. Ken Burns calls it “A noble undertaking: A history lost, returned to its people – and the world.” It stars Thomas G Masaryk, a professor who taught at the University of Chicago, and the city of Chicago plays a key supporting role. We really are “The City that Helped Create a Country!”

You can catch the whole story in the 47 minute documentary – Accidental Army – available on Amazon or at czechlegion.com – for a free three-minute preview here’s the YouTube link.
